Toronto moves to consolidate cybersecurity

In the wake of recent cyberattacks on the public library and zoo, Toronto is moving to consolidate security for all its agencies.

In October 2023, Toronto public library was attacked , and hackers demanded more than $10 million from the library. And later in Jan 2024, Toronto Zoo reported an ransomware/cyber incident. Back in October 2021, Toronto Transit Commission had to shut down its vital communication system due to ransomware attack.
